AvCAM Aviation Computer Aided Machining Our newest Panel Pro operating system. Included with the Panel Pro™. This amazing piece of software further simplifies the making of sheet metal panels and parts. Pro2k was a great performer, but it required the user to embed tool paths in the cad file. While this was not a great burden, this was a task that most new users were unaccustomed to. It demanded that the resulting entities in the dxf file were in the correct order and direction to cut properly. Not all Cad programs had the ability to arrange the order of entities in the dxf file. AvCAM solves the issue of order and direction with smart entities and Auto Tool Path technology. When a dxf file is created, the user does not have to pay any attention to the direction of entities or the order they appear in the dxf file. Although not all CADs have been tested, AvCAM should be able to utilized any standard DXF file from any CAD. AvCAM disassembles blocks and polylines as they are loaded and grants the entities intelligence so that they can attach themselves to other entities with matching end points in the order and direction required for machining with the Panel Pro. AvCAM automatically calculates tool paths for cutouts and panel perimeters. Use a 1/8" end mill or a 3/32" end mill without any file changes. AvCAM is able to directly utilize true type fonts without external programs breaking them down into polylines. AvCAM will simulate the actual cutting path and estimate the cutting time for a file. AvCAM can save the resulting dxf file if required for other programs. AvCAM has enhanced cutout creation utilities. They are parametric dialogs that simplify the drawing of cutouts not in the library. AvCAM utilizes the mouse wheel to move the xy axis in small increments in the jog mode or zoom the screen in normal mode AvCAM has improved zoom and pan capabilities. AvCAM can select multiple layers to cut, adding flexibility. AvCAM imposes minimal rules on the draftsperson.
AvCAM allows existing drawings used in the "classic" mode where there are open cutouts. The draftsperson is responsible for tool offsets, direction and order in the dxf file. AvCAM now incorporates Measure Pro functionality. Purchase the optional Measure Pro Panel measuring tool and operate it from AvCAM. To activate the Measuring mode simply plug in the Measure Pro. Within 5 seconds of plug in, a message will pop up asking if you want to go into measure mode. When in measure mode, the new cutout icons are replaced by measuring tools that guide you in measuring lines, circles, curves and arcs. When measuring, the screen automatically resizes to accommodate all drawn entities. The previous Measure Pro program held the dxf file open precluding viewing or editing by CAD. AvCAM in measure mode can save the file at any time to view in cad, and continue measuring. |
